Now Accepting Bitcoin for Matchmaking and Coaching

To be successful in this digital age of dating we must constantly be reinventing our approach to finding, forming and maintaining relationships. First we released Love Lab®, our free, do-it-yourself solution for iPhone and Android powered by industry leading fraud prevention technology and interoperable video chat.  Now we wish to offer our high-end clients the ease and convenience of paying for our services with a virtually untraceable digital currency.

Beginning on Valentine’s Day 2014, prospective customers who want to use Bitcoin will be provided a quote in dollars and an exchange rate at the current buy price on https://coinbase.com/. Due to the volatility of the digital currency, should the exchange rate fall more than 5%, a new quote will be required. The rate lock will be good for 30 days unless otherwise approved by a Master Matchmakers representative in writing. Utilizing this new form of payment does not come without risks according to industry insiders. Without a merchant service provider or bank acting as an intermediary there is little recourse available to the purchaser. 

In April 2013, OkCupid announced that they would be the first dating site to accept Bitcoin. Sam Yagan, CEO, Match Inc and co-founder of OkCupid was quoted as saying, “OkCupid innovated the way people think about finding love and now Bitcoin is innovating the way people think about currency.”
