Linzee Werkmesiter came up with a great list of date alternatives for South Florida daters. This article originally appeared in Rise Miami News.
Too often when we are deciding what to do with our significant others it is just easier to do the same old thing we know works for us. Even in one of the sexiest and exciting places on Earth- South Florida, we can still drag our feet when it comes to innovation in the dating sphere. Everyone is guilty of playing the “what do you wanna do” game, aimlessly pitching bland ideas, until finally you settle on your usual redundant evening. While routine is safe, it can become monotonous and you can end up in a “dating rut” before you know it. But don’t despair! Spicing up your relationship can be as simple as tweaking date-night.
Below are a list of great South Florida date alternatives:
1.
Yellow Green Farmers Market (1940 N 30th Rd Hollywood, FL 33021)
Q:Why choose Yellow Green over a matinee movie and restaurant lunch?
A: “With live music, prepared food, local exotic produce, craft discoveries, you can discover new tastes and fine tune your own entertainment, instead of someone else’s version prepared for a mass audience. Great conversations wait at each booth to discover what you and your partner’s tastes are,” –Mark Menagh, General Manager.
2.
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens (3251 S Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33129)
Q:Why choose Vizcaya?
A: “If you want to escape the ordinary and experience another time and place, then Vizcaya is for you. From art and architecture to gardens and the environment, Vizcaya is a serene and stunningly beautiful retreat in the heart of Miami.” -Suzy Trutie, Director of Marketing and Public Affairs.
3.
Sky Zone (5450 NW 82nd Ave, Miami, FL 33166)
A:Why Sky Zone?
Q: “Quite simply, Sky Zone is awesome, healthy, and fun. A date at Sky Zone forces people to disconnect from devices and engage in our activities. People just feel great after flying through the air, dunking on our hoops, diving in our Foam Zone or playing games like Ultimate Dodgeball or Volleyball. Sky Zone offers something for every type of couple. Our awesome activities are open to everyone, which means a couple with kids will have as much fun as a couple on a first date or a pair of friends just catching up. ” –Juan Brandt, Owner.
4.
Swap Shop Drive-In (3291 West Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL)
If straying too far from your typical date routine has you nervous, opt for takeout and a drive-in movie- It’s a step in the right direction, and you’re still mixing it up.
