3 Ways to Find Love in a Storm

There’s a massive snowstorm today crippling the east coast. And when weather strikes, the last thing you want to do is venture out to meet people. However, time stands still for no one and one more day that passes you by is one less day you have to live in love. All single men and women, ordinary and outstanding alike, must take a certain number of steps to find, form and maintain their ideal relationship. Don’t let the weather be another excuse to put this off any longer. Here are three ways to get closer to finding love even when you’re stuck inside during a snowstorm.

Take inventory. Regardless of the weather at hand, when you are serious about seeing someone and want to concentrate on your love life, one of the first things you must do is take inventory and assess your situation. You could have no one on your relationship radar at this point, or you could already be casually seeing someone special. You could be rekindling your connection or just making one. But in order to end up where you want to go, you’ll have to first realize where you are to begin with. Use this time to yourself as an inflection point. Think about where you were a few years ago, where you are today, and where you’d like to be a few years from now. Consider what will help or hurt your chances of getting there. Time and procrastination can only be battled by pertinence and perspiration. Once you realize what is lacking and what must be done you can visualize and accomplish what must be done.

Determine your plan.
Once you’ve taken account of where you are and what your situation is, you can consider your options and determine your plan. I personally believe we must leverage our time and be as productive as possible when pursuing anything in life; especially love, hence the reason why I’m writing about finding love in rain, snow, sleet or hail. No matter what stage you’re at in love life, whether you’re seriously single or in a relationship that’s run its course, there are steps you must take to end up where you want to go. Create small, but meaningful milestones to gauge yourself against and hold yourself accountable for setbacks, sidetracks and missteps along the way. For starters, you may want/need to enlist the support of others. You could hire a professional matchmaker or coach to create opportunities and steer you down the path of success, but that’s not always an option. If you’re going to go about it on your own, you should cast the widest net to catch the most fish. Create high level initiatives like attend more events, try online/mobile dating, reconnect with single friends and get involved in new things like intramurals and community activism.

Research and develop.
Now that you’ve assessed your situation and determined your plan its time to flesh it out and get specific in terms of each step by step that you must take to succeed at love. If it’s a conversation that must be had, carefully craft your message and find an approach that will work for you. Google communication techniques and develop the discussion before you have it. If you have to take action and go out of your comfort zone, find things to do that will motivate and challenge you instead of confound or disappoint you. For example, you may be more inclined to join a group fitness program or art project versus a singles event or networking club. Think of things that you have an interest or passion for and research ways to partake in these things. Develop a timeline and path to achievement. If you’ve always wanted to take up SCUBA diving, start with an online course and plan a local certification dive when it’s convenient for you. Then its time to find somewhere in the world to literally, and figuratively “dive in”.

So no matter what live throws in your way, if you don’t set aside the time and attention your love life deserves you should expect it to suddenly succeed in on its own. Like anything else in this universe, you must pursue to achieve.
