Just recently in the Journal of Evolutionary Psychology professors of psychology at University of Albany published their findings in a report titled, Do Orgasms Give Women Feedback About Mate Choice? The study consisted of 54 sexually active female college students in a committed relationship with a member of the opposite sex who agreed to fill out an anonymous survey concerning targeted features of their past and present sexual behavior.

It seems that attractiveness and breadth of shoulders is most associated with sexual satisfaction to a woman. No surprise there. And this may be all too familiar. Family income plays a significant role in the bedroom. It was more highly correlated with satisfaction, sexual frequency and orgasm intensity than self-confidence. Determination and focus in men is the number one thing that causes women to initiate sex, followed by his sense of humor, motivation and intelligence in that order.

Those in relationships with more humorous partners reported he was more popular, intelligent, a better leader, and more creative. Sense of humor seems to a predictor of self-confidence and family income, which gives women the propensity to initiate sex, have sex more often, and orgasm more often in comparison with other partners. The women surveyed also reported feeling more protected and committed to a more humorous partner.

Takeaway. Loosing your sense of humor can also be correlated to loosing family income and that could lead to a lack of self-confidence which quickly erodes motivation, determination and focus. This is when a marriage or relationship comes undone and the couple reaches a breaking point. Without healthy communication and empathy it will manifest itself in performance anxiety, sexual starvation, infidelity, depression or all of the above. There is a lot to be serious about in life, but if you can't lighten up in love you'll never be able to make your relationship last.
