Love is in the air, and it's time for Texas matchmaking enthusiasm. Personal-finance website WalletHub recently released its report on 2022′s Best & Worst States for Singles, and Texas is number 4 on the list! Whether you're looking for that special someone to spend your life with or someone special to spend Valentine's Day with, our matchmakers think you should consider a move to one of these five towns. The state of Texas is loaded with things to do and places to go. You can't really go wrong. If you want to experience something completely different, some hidden gems will get you primed for romance.
1. Dallas
Dallas is an energetic and forward-thinking city that has a lot to offer for dating singles. It is the largest city in Texas by population and is a melting pot of ideas, cultures, and businesses. The Business capital of the state fosters a lively community culture with many major attractions. The Dallas Arts District alone has over 17 museums. If you're into fitness it's time to take your date outdoors as this area offers exceptional opportunities for hiking, biking, and swimming.
2. San Antonio
Texas' oldest town offers beautiful historic sites and plenty of opportunities for romance and dating. Take a stroll around the Alamo grounds, or visit the River Walk to see what all the fuss is about. Afterwards, grab dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants in town. Don't forget to stop by La Villita (Little Village) on your way out—you might just meet your next crush there!
3. Forth Worth
If you're looking for a fun way to spend your date night, look no further than Fort Worth's Stock Yards. In addition to shopping, dining, and playing, the Stock Yards offers free daily cattle drives to guests. These drives occur twice a day and are presented by Longhorn Cattle Company. On Thursday nights from April through October, you can also watch a longhorn show put on by the Stockyards Championship Rodeo Company, which includes roping, bull riding, and barrel racing.
4. Austin
Let's not rush things. A date doesn't have to involve dinner or drinks right off the bat. You can try Peter Pan Mini-Golf first; it's an iconic, cherished part of South Austin, and it's BYOB (and who doesn't love BYOB?). Find out if your new date is competitive in the best way possible: an evening of beer-fueled low-stakes golf.
5. Houston
If you're looking to shake things up, check out the swan boat rentals in Houston. Sometimes you just need a date night and the only thing that can get you going is an evening spent on a boat with your lover, stargazing and enjoying some music. There are also some awesome local Houston establishments that have been around for generations. Head to Market Square Park for Blanket Bingo, an evening of delicious eats, great tunes, and a chance to win some prizes.
