Master Matchmakers is a family-owned firm founded in 2001 by JoAnn Ward, co-author of Crash Course in Love and executive producer of VH1's Tough Love. Today the company is led by her son, CEO Steve Ward — a Drexel University graduate, professional matchmaker, and dating coach who hosted and executive-produced Tough Love.
Over more than 25 years, our matchmakers have been featured on CNN, the Today Show, Bravo, and Oprah, and have personally guided thousands of accomplished singles toward lasting relationships. For Washington-area clients, that experience translates into discreet, credential-aware introductions across the District, Northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland — a region where careers in government, law, diplomacy, medicine, policy, and technology shape both schedules and expectations.
Every client's identity, age, and photos are verified, and every match is subject to a public-record background check before any introduction is made. That blend of real-world experience, media-recognized authority, and rigorous vetting is what sets each introduction apart. Learn more about our team and story →
